The primary goal of a community health needs assessment is a formal approach to collecting data to identify the assts and needs of individuals and communities. It helps identify gaps between the current and desired impact while highlighting the impact an organization has on the communities it serves. Most importantly, the assessments provide recommendations and actionable insights for the organization and community partners. 

 

Community health needs assessments are necessary to help non-profits and organizations obtain funding and grants for programs that benefit their communities.
