1 in 4 People Living in Colorado Springs are 50 and Older—and in Pueblo, that Number Jumps to More Than 1 in 3. (Beacon Senior News)

 

Black elders face a convergence of challenges that most aging systems weren't built to address.

 

Systemic gaps in healthcare, housing, and caregiving don't disappear at 65 and the visibility and dignity of Black elders requires active, practice-grounded protection.

The SoCo Black Aging Summit is a signature experience of Aging While Black (awB), a national movement that centers the wellbeing, wisdom, and lived experience of Black elders. Through a hub-and-network model, awB combines national thought leadership with local action, partnering with cities across the country to shift policy, services, and resource flows.
